Symposiums
These educational programs will be of interest and importance to both those care providers already on the Culture Change journey, as well as those who are just now taking those first tentative steps. The speakers will be experts in the field, presenting realistic and achievable ideas and practices. Sessions will be convened on a weekday morning, though occasionally a full day session will be offered. Continuing Education Units will be offered for as many disciplines for which the presentation qualifies.
Nursing Home Tools
Promising Practices -- To assist nursing homes with the new CMS Interpretive Guidelines, Promising Practices, offers providers a unique opportunity to access the relevant F-Tags and the Interpretive Guidelines in one place, ensuring that nursing home residents fully benefit from these new directives and are treated with respect and dignity in their daily lives in an environment that is truly a home.
Design on a Dollar -- To help homes address environmental changes on a limited budget, Design on a Dollar provides tools to assess the current building, furnishings, colors, lights, and personal use items, such as dinnerware and linens. Small changes have the potential to improve the environment, and this program assists homes discover how to effectively and inexpensively make those changes.
Community Outreach
Group Meetings -- These presentations are designed for service clubs, churches, schools, fraternal societies, businesses, advocacy groups – any organization that would like to learn how some nursing homes are changing. And to have the right questions to ask of those Homes who haven’t yet embraced the concept of making a home for elders.
Small Gatherings -- Designed for a group gathering of no more than 10 interested people, this program is delivered in a person's home, a private room of a restaurant, or perhaps a room in a church – any where that lends itself to an informal dialogue. A trained facilitator will guide the conversation about long term care and nursing homes, with particular focus on how culture change can have positive affects for elders living in the homes.
